My sympathies to you and your family, I know how hard it is to let go of a parent. Especially one like your dad. My parents were the same kind of people, honest, hard working, not expecting much but giving lots in return. I miss them daily. Cherish your memories, and know that their values and influence live on in you. The best way to honour them is to live following their example. Fred
Thank you, Brent, for this poignant remembrance of your dad. You have just suffered a tremendous loss, and yet I know it will take time for it to really sink in. May your memories of a long life, well lived, give you comfort during the upcoming holidays and in the months to come.
Losing parent is part of the natural order of things, but that doesn't make it easy. If the parent has lived a long life, we (and they) are lucky. If the parents have a son who can express his love for his parents so beautifully, they are blessed. Crying with you, Brent.

Hey Brent, you have my Sympathy. Your words are a comfort to others even as you grieve. That is a gift to all of us. Please never stop writing.
My sympathy to you and your family. Your father was a rare male in his generation, as you described him. We need more like him!

You have my sympathies. Very well said about a man who many used as an example to live by. God bless his memory!!
My sympathy, but you are blessed with so many wonderful and meaningful memories. A life well lived.
